Memphis Baby Shower

Hi Friends! Happy Thursday! We are one day away from the weekend and I know you are just as excited as I am! Last weekend, we went to Memphis for my first baby shower hosted by our good family friend Karen Fesmire & sister-in-law Lauren Draffin. They hosted the shower and it was beautiful. It was at Chickasaw Country Club in Memphis and it was absolutely perfect!  My mom was able to come from Indiana and I loved having her there with me. My dad also made the trip and hung out with the guys back at the Draffin household. I am always so thankful to have such great parents and in-laws that get to spend time together.

We had chicken & waffles, candied bacon (it was amazing), different kinds of quiche, yogurt parfait's, blue macaroons, & mimosa's. It was a wonderful time! I loved the blue details and the monogrammed napkins were the icing on the cake :) Thank you so much to Karen and Lauren for a beautiful baby shower and to Barbara and her wonderful friends and family for coming to share this special time with us. I hope you enjoy the pictures below! And stay tuned next week because this coming weekend is my baby shower in Indiana! I can't wait to share about that shower as well :) Thank you as always for stopping by! xoxo Tesla

Baby Draffin: My 2nd Trimester

Hi Everyone! Happy Monday! I can't believe my 2nd trimester is already gone, that went fast!! At the end of my first trimester, I shared all about how I felt and my experience and wanted to do the same for the 2nd trimester as well. So far, the second trimester has been the best for me. I feel better than the first and I have some energy back. The first trimester was full of emotions, nausea, and fatigue and thankfully the nausea is gone for now but the fatigue comes and goes. But hey, like I said I will take it and I am thankful for the good the bad and the ugly even though sometimes it's not pleasant.

I have really enjoyed this trimester of pregnancy, not only because I am feeling better but because it has given me a chance to enjoy family time, activities, and attending events again.  I have also been able to start the nursery and actually take my time with it. We have a crib now and my dad recently came and painted one accent wall for us, which was awesome :) Thanks Dad! It is a blueish/grey color and the rest of the walls are a beige/neutral color. Reed and my dad assembled the crib a couple weekends ago which was fun to watch and see. My mom and I collected small decor pieces to add and found sheets for the crib which was fun. It is starting to come together slowly but surely. Reed recently built two hanging book shelves which I love! We started placing the books on the shelves and adding in some details to some spaces and it is coming along great. I have had more fun getting the closet together and putting all the tiny clothes on little hangers haha! :)

I had my first baby shower in Memphis this past weekend and can't wait to share that later this week but wanted to fill you in on how the 2nd trimester was since I just entered the 3rd trimester this past weekend. Time is flying and I couldn't be more thankful, nervous, excited, and nervous haha I announced the babies name this past weekend and his name means a lot to us. Rush Atlas Draffin will be his full name. Rush was my great-great grandpa's name on my mom's side and Reed and I got engaged at Mount Rushmore in 2014. His first name is very special to us and his middle name Atlas comes from our trip to Alaska last summer. We were on our way home from Alaska, and I started a book and in the book the family had a little boy named Atlas and I fell in love with the name. This is where his middle name comes from. Reed picked the first name and I picked the middle name and it worked out great. We couldn't be more thankful for this season and thank God daily for this tiny little blessing that we will have in just three short months. We can't wait to meet you baby Rush! I will be back soon to share our Memphis baby shower! Thank you for reading and following along :)xoxo Tesla

Halloween Invitations with Basic Invite

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! I hope you are all having a wonderful first week of October! With Halloween parties and events right around the corner, I wanted to give you some Halloween ideas for your party invites! As you all know, I am a sucker for a good invitation, stationery set, or card. I love paper and always have! I recently ordered several Halloween invitations as samples from a paper company online and I really enjoyed the options and quality of the brand.

My mom and I love Halloween! She actually hosts a Halloween party each year and the invitation is always a fun way to express to the guests what the party will be like. Whether the party is for Halloween Adult Party Invitations or for kids, the invitation should match the theme/feel of the party. It doesn't have to of course, but it definitely keeps things cohesive. Halloween is such a fun and spooky holiday and of course everyone needs to celebrate with scary movies, costume parties, and eating a ton of candy!

I wanted to order several samples of Halloween invitations to see what they looked like in person before ordering. If you haven't heard of Basic Invite then let me tell you a little bit about the brand and why I really enjoyed ordering samples from them. One of the best parts about this stationery/paper/ invitation company is the wide variety of options/styles they offer.  I also love that you can order samples of any invitation before actually purchasing in bulk, which is amazing and exactly what I did.  You can customize your invitation to any event or party and pick from a wide range of high quality options.I loved the quality of this brand and wanted to share all of the details with you today! Basic Invite is a invitation/paper company based in Utah. They specialize in invitations, stationery, thank you cards, and so much more.

Here are some features to why this company is a little different from other stationery companies:

Almost Unlimited Colors - Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. Once you select a design you can change the color of each element on the card to over 180 different color options so you can make sure the card is exactly how you want it down to the littlest detail. Which is awesome and definitely a key feature to why the company is a little different than most.

Custom Samples - Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows their customers the ability to order a printed sample of their actual invitation so they can see exactly how it will print as well as feel the paper quality before they ever have to place their final order. This is what I loved most of all! Not many companies will even give you this option to order a sample beforehand. This way you can really see and feel the paper and the quality before ordering in bulk (which I appreciate).

Over 40 Different Colors of Envelopes - Basic Invite is just as colorful with our envelopes as we are with our invitations. Customers can choose from over 40 different colors when it comes to their envelopes so that they can make their invitation stand out even before it is opened. All of our envelopes are peel and seal so the envelopes can be quickly and securely closed without licking a single one. I ordered the orange color for the inside of one of the envelopes to give me a good idea of the color and quality. I loved the color detail to the envelope and think it definitely gives a more personalized feel.

Address Capturing Service - Basic Invite offers an address capturing service that allows customers to simply share a link on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other form of social media to request their friends and family’s addresses which will be stored in the customer’s account and can then be selected during the design process. Basic Invite offers recipient address printing at no cost on all Christmas card orders. This is genius you guys, how great is this!?

Foil - Foil holiday cards are available in gold, silver, and rose gold. You can choose flat or raised foil on all of Basic Invite’s foil designs.

Also, not only for Halloween but they also have over 500 Unique Christmas Cards designs and Holiday Photo Cards 2018. This is definitely a great company to order from and one that I will always keep in mind when looking for invitations. I am going to do the exact same thing with my Christmas cards and any Holiday parties that I might want to throw this year and order several samples ahead of time. Now, the best news of all!

Right now, Basic Invite is offering a 30% off coupon for their website if you use coupon code: holl30

To order and browse go to: Basic Invite

You can also follow Basic Invite on social media as well!

I hope you enjoy these pictures below and my samples that I ordered with Basic Invite! :) xoxo Tesla

Style: Fall Fashion Inspiration

Happy Wednesday y'all! I hope you all are having a great week. Fall is here and hopefully the cool weather is right around the corner! Fall is hands down my favorite season, and one of the main reasons why is because of the fall and winter fashion. I love everything about it! The boots, the coats, the sweaters, the layering, the colors and textures... just everything! I am so inspired by all of the fall fashions on pinterest and other blogs that I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite looks and pieces for this fall season.

I love layering! Whether it is a denim chambray shirt with a sweater, a cardigan, a chunky knit sweater, or jean jacket I love to layer this time of year. The sage/green color I am really drawn to this year as well as a good classic camel/cognac color. I love these two but also love the classic black & grey combo as well. As I am getting older I am really understanding to invest in good pieces over time verses things that will sit in my closet year after year that I won't wear too often. It also saves me from purging my closet each season. I love all of these looks and pieces below. These are all outfits that inspire me to create my own looks for this fall season. All of these images and looks I found on Pinterest and hope to share some of my looks with you as well this fall on my social media accounts. I hope these looks inspire you as well and hope this will get you excited as well to dress in fall attire. If you are interested in one or two or all of these pieces you can go find me on Pinterest and if you click this link below it will direct you to my Pinterest page and then you will click on the "fall and winter fashion page" for all of these images and information on the outfits.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy :) xo Tesla
