oreo cupcakes

 i love anything oreo, (who doesn't) and when i stumbled upon this recipe i knew i had to give it a try. these oreo cupcakes are so yummy and so easy to make. i made these for my co-workers (and reed) and they loved them!!

ingredients for cupcakes:

-use your favorite vanilla cupcake recipe or use 1 box of white cake mix 

-1 package of oreos

ingredients for oreo buttercream:

-1 stick of butter

-1/2 cup of vegetable shortening 

-3 cups of powdered sugar

-1/2 tsp of vanilla

-6 tbsp of crumbled oreos

details:

-pre heat your oven for the cupcakes

-make your vanilla cupcake batter with your favorite recipe or the white cake box mix

-place cupcake liners in the pan

-add one oreo to the bottom of each cup

-pour the batter into the cups (fill them half way)

-bake until golden color 

-transfer the cupcakes to a cooling rack to cool for  25-30 minutes

-for the buttercream, start by getting a large mixing bowl 

-mix the butter and shortening until light and fluffy

-slowly add in your powdered sugar one cup at a time

-add in the vanilla and crumbled oreos

-mix together until fluffy

-pipe the buttercream using a piping bag or icing kit or simply use a knife to coat the cupcakes 

-garnish the cupcakes with a full oreo or more oreo crumbles
